Hi, I’m Vin.
That's short for Vinitha Agarwal (recently Vinitha Agarwal-Mahadevia :))
Since you want to get to know a little about me, here’s a TLDR of my story…
For a long time, I dreamed of being an architect with a messy studio, messy hair, working sleepless nights, coffee in hand, fussing over some design details. So, officially, my professional path started off as an architect.
However, I was a cash-strapped 18-year-old with a bucketful of other interests too. So unofficially, I was always taking up content writing and design gigs to support my college education and fund my small travel dreams. I started off freelancing in the days of DigtalPoint Forums, Ezine Articles and Elance – it was fun.
Fast forward to ten years later, past my architecture education, training and a bunch of years working as a full-time architect… I realized sleepless nights were actually meh and my bucketful of other interests had been dumped unrealized in a sad, forgotten corner. So I decided it was time to take my messy studio, messy hair and coffee in hand (or maybe not anymore ‘cause acidity) and jump ship back to the good-ol-freelance days and do that full-time for a while.
Oh, you also want to get to know me a little personally?
Ah well, let’s see. I was a rebel born into a very conservative Indian family. That made my teenage years and early twenties a big struggle in establishing a career and living by my interests. It put me a little – as I sometimes (quite often) dread – behind on my dreams. But, on the other hand, it also taught me to be the hard worker – resilient, bold, honest and resourceful.
Today, if you don’t find me fussing over some design I’m working on, then you’ll probably find me typing away frantically. If not that, then perhaps I’m sitting in the corner fashioning a comic version of a very serious person. No? Then I’m probably going wild experimenting in the kitchen, whipping up some healthy, previously-unheard-of dishes. Still no? Then maybe I’m best left alone to devour my book for now.

Check out some of me and my life translated into some of my work…
